Inclusion Specialist
    East End House is seeking an Inclusion Specialist for our Child Care, Afterschool and Middle School programs as we embark on a new journey to develop a curriculum and on site support specifically designed to accommodate children with special needs and disabilities. Primary responsibilities include working with staff and children to provide a program that is accessible to all ability levels including those with special needs. This position is 27.5 hours per week.
  • Duties and Responsibilities:
       
    • Work one-on-one with children with special needs ages 15 months to 14 years of age
    • Assist in recruiting children with special needs into our programs
    • Develop relationships with children
    • Circulate among childcare, afterschool and middle school groups to observe children and staff
    • Mentor and coach staff on effective strategies working with children with special needs
    • Model positive interactions with children
    • Meet and consult with staff and directors
    • Act as a liaison and maintain communication between East End House staff and public school support staff
    • Assist in designing an all-inclusive curriculum
    • Recommend trainings for childcare, afterschool and middle school staff to participate in
    • Recommend supplies and equipment to be purchased
  • Qualifications:
       
    • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Special Education, or related field
    • Minimum 1 year working with children 15 months to 14 years old
    • Ability to manage time effectively
    • Ability to work as a team member
    • Responsible, flexible and patient

School Age Program Group Leaders
    Group Leaders work with the Program Director, Curriculum Director, Specialists, and Assistant Group Leaders and report directly to the Program and Curriculum Directors. Group Leaders are responsible for supervising a group of twelve to fifteen children during East End House's School Age Program hours of operation. Primary responsibilities include working with program staff to create and implement an interesting and engaging curriculum for School Age Program. This position is 27.5 hours during the school year's Afternoon Adventure program, and 40 hours per week during the Summer Fun program and school vacation weeks.
  • Duties and Responsibilities:
       
    • Will establish and foster positive relationships with children, staff and families
    • Will provide direct care to program participants during program hours
    • Will assist with general classroom maintenance as needed
    • Will engage children in active conflict management and address behavior issues in a positive manner
    • Will create and implement at least 5 eight-to-ten-week thematic units per session for school year program, vacation weeks and summer program
    • Will assist children with homework
    • Will help with daily pick-ups of the children at schools and bus stops
    • Will assist with snack set-up/clean-up and general classroom maintenance
    • Will maintain a safe, healthy environment for the children, adhering to proper EEC, NAA, Department of Health, and Bureau of Nutrition standards at all times
    • Must attend all required staff meetings and trainings
  • Qualifications:
       
    • Minimum high school diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Minimum one year working with children
    • Ability to manage time effectively
    • Ability to work as a member of a team
    • Responsible, flexible and patient

Preschool Teachers and Lead Teacher
    We are looking for enthusiastic leaders and educators to serve in creating quality childcare programming in the East End House Toddler and Preschool programs.     • OCCS Teacher or Lead Teacher Qualified

Development Associate
    This is a full-time exempt position with benefits under the immediate supervision of the Director of Development and Evaluation. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraising professional to be involved in the development of a new fund development office at an historic and well-regarded social service agency in Cambridge.
  • Duties and Responsibilities:
       
    • Prospect grant opportunities
    • Prepare grants and grant reports
    • Manage grant deadlines and track outcomes
    • Sage database management
    • Prepare and send donor acknowledgements
    • Manage in-kind donations
    • Coordinate mail camapaigns
    • Take a leading role in planning and executing East End House's annual fundraiser Cooking for a Cause
    • Serve as a viable spokesperson and advocate for East End House's mission and programs in the broader community
    • Assist in updating and management of East End House's web-site
    • Prepare press packets, write press releases and public service announcements
    • Develop annual reports, periodic newsletter, and various other written materials
    • Serve on one or more staff committee (i.e. Sunshine Committee, Health and Wellness, etc.)
    • Participate in professional development activities throughout the year
  • Qualifications:
       
    • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree required
    • Excellent writing,organizational and interpersonal skills required
    • One to three years of fund development experience
    • Highly energetic, consummate team player, resourceful, flexible and a good sense of humor
    • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite

Business Office Manager
    This full-time position, reporting to the President and CEO, manages the business and financial functions of East End House (EEH).
  • Duties and Responsibilities:
       
    • Work with EEH's CPA and financial consultant to: Complete monthly account reconciliations, Generate financial reports, including financial and cash flow forecasts for use by the President and CEO and Board, Lead the preparation of the agency's annual external audit
    • Assure all necessary fiscal controls and processes are in place and functioning, including controls over cash balances, reciepts and disbursements
    • Monitor risk managment prevention program
    • Develop system to track in-kind contributions on financial statements
    • Assist in the development and management of financial resources and budgets
    • Assist CEO with the planning and management of cash balances and cash flow
    • Manage payables and receivables, including collections
    • Prepare individual billing statements for consumers adn generate billing for reimbursable service provider contracts
    • Manage office systems, equipment contracts, and vendor contracts
    • Oversee technology maintenance and planning
    • Oversee benefit administration, including maintaining plans, vendor communication, review of billing, staff orientation, enrollment, termination, COBRA, and other related areas
    • Oversee payroll, including ensuring appropriate pay rates and deductions
  • Qualifications:
       
    • Bachelor's degree and a keen desire to work in then nonprofit sector
    • Solid computer skills, with specific knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word; Quickbooks experience a strong plus
    • Sound accounting/bookkeeping knowledge, including financial and operating controls
    • Excellent organization skills, ability to independently manage and prioritize multiple tasks and a keen eye for detail
    • Excellent interpersonal and customer care skills
    • Ability to work in a team environment, supervisory experience preferred
    • Strong written and verbal skills
    • A predisposition to continous organizational, professional, and personal development
    • Sense of humor and ability to manage conflict well

Director of Community Programs
    This position reports directly to the President and CEO, and is directly responsible for overseeing the management of volunteers and community initiatives at East End House. This position supervises teh operation of community programs, which includes providing direct supervision to the coordinators and volunteers of the Senior Activities Program, Emergency Food Program, and Information and Referral Services.
  • Duties and Responsibilities:
       
    • Increase the number of core volunteers at East End House; promote volunteer positions and recruit new volunteers generally; offer volunteer orientations as needed (quarterly at a minimum); manage volunteers, including hiring, assignments, and performance reviews
    • Maintain, review and update volunteer and program related records, files and paperwork; ensure that all volunteer files are complete and include applications, references and an orientation checklist
    • Demonstrate excellence in recruitment, retention, and utilization of volunteers
    • Continue to build knowledge of program standards and best practices in volunteer management as delineated by groups such as the DOVA, United Way and Voluntary Action Center of America and other groups; integrate these ideas into the program plan where appropriate
    • Be involved in developing community youth development initiatives within East End House, integrating youth involvement across the programs at East End House
    • Serve as a liaison with public and private high schools in Cambridge, and youth serving organizations
    • Become and expert in community youth development, civic engagement, and service learning with young people
    • Develop, implement, and work to enhance senior activities and program offerings, including Sunrise Club and Young at Heart Programs
    • Supervise the annual Thanksgiving Turkey Basket Program, Summer Block Party, Ice Skating Party and other family engagement/community events as needed
    • Organize and oversee Food Pantry and Farmer's Market Programs and volunteers
    • Serve as an ambassador for East End House in the community; represent East End House at various community meetings, including City's Reaching All Youth (RAY) group, Cambridge Challenge, and other local initiatives
  • Qualifications:
       
    • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field preferred
    • At least 3 years working in a community based organization
    • Demonstrate a genuine passion for community organizing, community youth development, and working with populations often denied access to vital human services due to social or economic barriers
    • Highly energetic, consummate team player, resourceful, flexible and a good sense of humor
    • Be familiar with the areas of community youth and positive youth development and service learning initiatives
