Senior Programming
Seniors are important members of the East End House community. Many have been using services at the agency since they were young children. Their stories and experiences have shaped the story of East End House and East Cambridge. Today they are a vital part of the agency, volunteering at special events, like the Thanksgiving Turkey Basket Giveaway and the Summer Block Party, and participating in Sunrise Club and other activities.

Sunrise Club
The Sunrise Club is a group of area seniors who meet twice a week to engage in a variety of social activities. The group also serves as a platform for area seniors to collectively advocate for the needs of the aging population in the community. Sunrise Club members also volunteer within the agency, providing intergenerational contact for children in our programs, and helping to make special events run smoothly. Members of the Sunrise Club enjoy:

  • Activities
  • Guest Speakers
  • Presentations
  • Luncheons
  • Field Trips

The Sunrise Club meets every Monday and Wednesday, from 10:30a.m.-12:00p.m. A Qi Gong class is held every Monday after the Sunrise Club, from 12pm-1pm.

Young at Heart
Young at Heart is our newest program for senior citizens. It is designed to promote knowledge and action around health and wellness. Health screenings and interactive presentations will give seniors the knowledge to feel healthy and energetic without drastic lifestyle changes. A walking club, Qi Gong, yoga and other energizing activities will give seniors ways to become active and social. This program is open to senior citizens of any age who are interested in learning how to live healthy, have more energy, socialize and have fun!

For more information on senior programming, contact Emily Bullen at emily@eastendhouse.org.
